October 5, 2015 – Always developing new tools to make electronics manufacturing simple, smart and streamlined, ECD today announced the availability of its latest productivity-enhancing technology, Recipe Generator. The new M.O.L.E.® M.A.P. software feature offers operators an easy approach to reflow oven recipe generation and is an excellent starting point for an in-spec process and development of the final recipe.
“We’ve taken our more than 50 years of experience and integrated that knowledge into Recipe Generator,” says Todd Clifton, ECD President and CEO. “Simple drop down menus provide operators with a broad selection of reflow oven and solder paste types, and the component density/board thickness input provides visual cues for easy identification. With this as the foundation, the software then generates a good initial oven recipe set-up for increased productivity.”
Available at no charge as part of the latest version of the company’s M.O.L.E. M.A.P. software, M.A.P. 3.20b, Recipe Generator is Windows 10 compatible and can be used with V-M.O.L.E.®, SuperM.O.L.E.® Gold 2 and MegaM.O.L.E.® 20 thermal profilers. Accessed from within the software’s reflow oven environment, Recipe Generator prompts selection of reflow oven type, board thickness and component density, and solder paste type, following which the tool automatically produces reflow recipe zone temperature set points and conveyor speed.
“This new feature makes reflow oven set up faster and easier to enable greater uptime,” comments Clifton in summary. “The intent of Recipe Generator is to provide an in-spec starting point for reflow oven processes, with the full expectation that recipes will be refined and perfected as product requirements dictate.”
