Keep your thermal processes in control with OvenRIDER-NL®

OvenRIDER PalletWith OvenRIDER® your operator can quickly verify oven thermal performance, before risking valuable product.

Replace your costly "Golden" boards, and thermocouples with OvenRIDER®.

Oven Manufacturers use the OvenRIDER to quantify oven performance. Circuits Assembly Article.

Industry standard OvenRIDER Pallet is rated for Thousands of runs.

NOW there is OvenRIDER® NL for your lead free soldering needs. Click here to get the Data sheet and Click here to get the news release.

OvenRIDER SPC software has the same look and feel as the SMG SPC you are already familiar with. Statistical Process Control is implemented by parameter for each oven zone. Just pick a parameter and track it, it's that simple.

  • OvenRIDER® is Faster - Plug in your SuperM.O.L.E.® Gold, press start and collect data from your reflow oven
  • OvenRIDER is Easier - No Thermocouples to Attach
  • OvenRIDER is Inexpensive - it uses the SuperM.O.L.E. Gold you already have
  • OvenRIDER is Popular - chances are that the manufacturer of your reflow oven uses the OvenRIDER to test the oven's characteristics prior to shipment
  • OvenRIDER is Superior to a printed circuit board assembly as a "Golden Board"
    • Remains physically stable so the data remains reliable, unlike a circuit board that degrades after 5 or 6 runs
    • Verifies correct Conveyor speed - bet your golden board can't do that!
    • Measures temperatures in each zone left, center and right with built-in thermocouples
    • Tells you when a convection fan is out or an incorrect convection rate has been set with built-in heat-flow sensors
    • Once the process is developed with circuit board profiling, you can profile your oven running that recipe instead of the board with an OvenRIDER
  • OvenRIDER provides a Go/No-Go screen to the operator. Data is color coded Blue [below lower Spec limit], Black [within specification], or Red [above upper Spec limit] for quick and easy oven conditions verification - a great 'First-Off' tool
  • OvenRIDER's additional Statistical Process Control functionality alerts you to adverse trends before scrap is produced, so it pays for itself quickly
  • A complete product, OvenRIDER is portable so it can be used with multiple ovens to create a unified quality control data stream of X-Bar R charts and Cp & CpK process capability indices without resorting to 3rd party software

SuperM.O.L.E.® Gold you already own is Docked inside integral thermal barrier

3 Process Sensors tell you when a Convection fan is out or an incorrect convection rate as been set

A Pair of leading and trailing Reed Switches are imbedded in either edge of the pallet for conveyor speed measurement and zones detection

Ambient Thermocouples measure oven air temperatures Left, Center and Right per zone

Overview

For the first time, actual reflow oven performance can be quantified by the OvenRIDER® from ECD.

The OvenRIDER® is an innovative system for providing critical setup and performance data of reflow ovens. The OvenRIDER® captures continuous process data for air temperature, heat flow (the oven's ability to transfer heat to an object), zone location and conveyor speed. A companion statistical process control (SPC) software application provides powerful SPC tools for analysis and reporting of the oven's performance data captured by the OvenRIDER®.

The OvenRIDER® is run through the reflow oven to capture a "signature" for the established profile or settings. On subsequent hours, days, months or years, the OvenRIDER®'s measurements will be the same as those of the "signature" if all oven parameters are the same. The OvenRIDER® detects all reflow oven changes, including changes in: zone temperatures, heater efficiency, conveyor speed, convection fan efficiency, fan failure and exhaust restrictions. The OvenRIDER® measures the TOTAL reflow oven process, not just a few of the parameters such as air temperature.

Quick and Easy to Use

The OvenRIDER® is a self-contained system that "rides" through the reflow oven like a normal PCB being processed. Pallet widths of 6.6, 12 or 18 inches (168, 305 or 458 mm) are standard. To match your specific process, custom width pallets are also available. The minimum width is 6.6 inches (168 mm).

  1. Place the OvenRIDER® in your reflow oven as you would a PCB.
  2. After traveling through the oven, remove the OvenRIDER®; and connect the M.O.L.E.® to a PC that is operating the OvenRIDER® SPC Software.
  3. Download the captured data set.
  4. View the Report page for immediate "go/no-go" analysis with parameters that are color-coded to alert you of parameters that exceed user specified control limits.

The OvenRIDER® pallet contains sensors that detect the location of each heating zone and allow calculation of the conveyor speed. This greatly enhances ease of use because you no longer have to estimate process origin, zone size, process completion and conveyor speed. The OvenRIDER® and OvenRIDER® SPC Software automatically measure, quantify and calculate critical reflow oven performance parameters.

Built on the Industry Standard SuperM.O.L.E.® Gold Temperature Profiler

The OvenRIDER®; system consists of a special pallet and the SPC Analysis Software. Your SuperM.O.L.E.® Gold fits into a protective thermal barrier contained on the pallet. The SuperM.O.L.E.® Gold performs the actual measurements and stores the data for later download into the SPC Analysis Software for analysis, reporting and SPC charting.

Protect Your Process and Your Investment

The OvenRIDER® is unequaled in keeping your reflow soldering process and your budget under control. The OvenRIDER® will allow you to control your reflow process, lower your rework and overall manufacturing costs by quantifying your process. With a defined process, a strategy for reducing defects is possible.

Use your SuperM.O.L.E.® Gold in the OvenRIDER® to profile the PCB being processed. Once the profile is complete and the reflow oven settings established, place the SuperM.O.L.E.® Gold in the OvenRIDER® pallet. Pass the OvenRIDER® through the oven to capture the OvenRIDER®'s "signature" for the specific oven settings. Download the OvenRIDER® data into its companion SPC software for statistical process control.

Don't limit the SuperM.O.L.E.® Gold and OvenRIDER® to your reflow soldering process. ECD offers a full range of accessories for the SuperM.O.L.E.® Gold:

  • Add the RF option, SuperM.O.L.E.® Gold RF, for instant access to temperature profiling data.
  • Add an ultraviolet (UV) energy sensor for profiling processes dependent on UV energy.
  • Add the WaveRIDER® NL pallet to measure critical parameters of a wave solder machine.

No other product family offers such flexibility and the ability to address your total electronics manufacturing process control.
